This advertorial, published as part of the public review of the 2013 curriculum, explores the factors that determine successful implementation of the new curriculum. There is a determinant factor, namely a good match between the competencies of teachers and educational personnel and the curriculum and its accompanying textbooks. The article features charts outlining the Ministry of Education and Culture’s strategies for preparing and supervising teachers in implementing the curriculum. There are also three supporting factors, namely (i) availability of books for teaching materials integrated into curriculum standard; (ii) strengthening of government’s supervision and monitoring roles; and (iii) strengthening of school management and culture.
