The Curriculum 2013 is in the limelight again. The learning design of Indonesian language is considered as a backward step with its structural orientation. The text-based learning scheme of Indonesian language in the Curriculum 2013 package is proposed by the Language Development and Fostering Board (Badan Pengembangan dan Pembinaan Bahasa). With the new paradigm of Indonesian education, the Language Board is convoked to be an agent of change in the learning of Indonesian Language at schools. A very fundamental change is reflected by the design of Indonesian language subject, which is very effective as a means to learn other subjects.
