The condition of the State Primary School (Sekolah Dasar Negeri) 27, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, is alarming. A portion of its roof is hollowed out and the ceiling is subject to collapse. Much of the roof supporting column above the classroom corridor is also fragile. The damage has resulted in worry among students’ parents as a portion of the ceiling in classrooms has collapsed.
The Principal of SDN 27 Keramat Jati, Lilis Juariah, said that the school has made effort to repair the damage using the school operational fund (BOS), but it is not sufficient to repair the school building’s roof that requires a lot of money.
