The education process continues to face constraints arising out of a lack of collaboration between teachers and parents. There is still a lack of support from parents so as to ensure the success of the educational process. Teachers are afraid to adopt a strict approach to children as parents frequently feel called upon to interfere. Ironically, parents demand high standards from the schools, but fail to provide the necessary support in the home. Melly Kiong, a home education practitioner and the founder of the eMKa community, said that parents need to be aware that education is not solely the responsibility of teachers and the schools.
