Educators’ Professional Allowance Fund or certification allowance for teachers in Garut Regency, West Java, in the amount of Rp 35 billion is allegedly corrupted. The fund is actually allowance for teachers in 2012, which has not been granted.

According to the Chief of Indonesian Teachers Association of Garut Regency, Imam Tamamu Taufiq, out of 12 months’ allowance, teachers have only received 10 months’. The allowance was cut in the first and the third quarters. Every teacher has missed two months’ allowance. This involved 7,000 teachers, consisting of 4,500 civil service teachers and, the rest, honorary teachers. In addition, the allowance granted was not in proportion to their basic salary.
