The Tuban Police are investigating a case of suspected physical violence inflicted on 19 students of Class VIII B at the Ronggolawe Catholic Junior High School in Tuban, East Java. The suspect in the case is a class tutor, MM, who is alleged to have tied his students to their benches by their feet with ropes during class as a form of punishment.

The punishment was designed to stop the students moving around during class, and is alleged to have taken place over the course of a week. As a result, one student, Michael Eka Juanda (18), fell and sprained his ankle.
