National examinations at the elementary school level are considered no longer suitable, said House of Representatives (DPR) Commission X member Rohmani. Consequently, they should be abolished in 2013.
Rohmani said that scientific evaluations and studies had clearly shown that the holding of national examinations at the elementary level was inappropriate. Thus, he said, there is no convincing reason to delay their abolition until next year, bearing in mind that there is a correlation between the national examination system and the effort to improve the quality of education. Consequently, he said, the elementary school national examinations should be abolished this year.
