A number of state universities will raise their capacity for new students in the academic year of 2013/2014. However, this rise will be maximum 10 percent higher than the previous capacity. Universitas Indonesia, for example, will raise its capacity by opening a new study program on Islamic Economy.

On the other hand, Assistant Rector I of Purwokerto’s Jenderal Sudirman University, Edi Sumaryadi, says that new students admitted in their campus are still around 4,000. The new students will be admitted through three tracks that are generally relevant in state universities. According to him, their campus must consider some matters related to capacity rising, especially the ratio of lecturers to students.
