The Inspector General (Irjen) of the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) Haryono Umar finally informs the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on non-withdrawal of teachers’ professional allowance in 2012 that occurred in a number of regions. Haryono says there is an indication of corruption around Rp 10 trillion of the teachers’ professional allowance that is still not withdrawn in a number of regional governments. Java Island is considered the most dominant region in this matter. He suspects that the allowance, which should have been channeled to teachers, has stopped in regional governments and then used by certain parties for personal interest or for the interest of some groups of people.
