Joint written tests for admission to state universities (SBMPTN) will be held by 62 state universities. Registration for the tests will commence in April, and students who graduated in 2011, 2012 and 2013 will be eligible to participate.Akhmaloka, the General Chairman of both the SNMPTN and the 2013 SBMPTN Committee, said that the SBMPTN mechanism was established at the initiative of the university rectors gathered in the Indonesian State Universities’ Rectors Council (Majelis Rektor PTN Indonesia). The holding of the SBMPTN is not subsidized by the government, so that participants have to pay a registration fee. Registration can be carried out online. The official website, www.sbmptn.or.id, has been set up but cannot yet be accessed by the public.
