The Committee for the National Selection for Entry to State Universities of 2013 records 589,049 participants. It is expected that by the closing of the registration on next Friday (8/3), the number would reach above one million.

According to Rochmat Wahab based on temporary data,  the number of participants from Indonesia’s Eastern Region is still the least, which is in line with the number of schools from that region recorded in the previous school and student database recordation. For example, the provinces of Maluku, North Maluku, and West Papua are still the lowest in terms of registration.

He explains that there are two factors, i.e. external and internal, as the reason for it. The external factor is the limited facilities of information technology, and the internal factor is motivation.
