The 2013 curriculum will take effect in July but many teachers are still confused and unclear about many details in the new guidelines, said Retno Listyarti of the Indonesian Federation of Teachers Unions (FSGI). Teachers are concerned that they will not be able to teach properly with such inadequate guidelines, she said. Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Education and Culture Musliar Kasim said the ministry has made a complete guideline and will soon publish the documents once they were considered official government materials. He said the new curriculum will be implanted in 102.053 schools from primary to senior secondary levels in the 2013 academic year.
