Chairman of the Golkar Party, Aburiza Bakrie, said his party fully supported the government’s plan to introduce the 2013 curriculum. He said Golkar preferred the new curriculum be properly socialized and gradually implemented and that textbooks production and procurement be entirely covered by the government. Meanwhile, Ahmad Zainuddin, a politician from the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), said many of the education sector stakeholders in East Kalimantan had raised concerns about the new curriculum and wanted a delay in its implementation. He said that even the East Kalimantan education agency was not prepared to implement the new curriculum this year because many things in the curriculum that were unclear.
