Several education-focused NGOs, including Indonesia Corruption Watch, grouped together as the Education Coalition have again raised their concerns about the government’s insistence to introduce the new 2013 curriculum. They called the curriculum changes unreasonable and argued that the National Medium-Term Development Plan and the Government Regulation No. 5/2010 stipulated curriculum reorganization and strengthening, not curriculum changes. Meanwhile, Minister of Education and Culture Mohammad Nuh has reiterated the government’s confidence to begin the 2013 curriculum implementation this year as planned.
