Deputy Minister of Education and Culture Musliar Kasim said the initial implementation of the 2013 curriculum in July will involve approximately 30% of schools at every level. The schools will be selected proportionately by each regional administration based on their readiness to apply the curriculum. New textbooks for the new curriculum will be made available for free for the students to use, Musliar added. Production of the books will be funded by state budget (for primary level) and special allocation budget (for secondary levels). Separately, Minister of Education and Culture Mohammad Nuh said the 50-60 hours new curriculum training for teachers will emphasize on classroom mentoring approach.
