Minister of Education and Culture Mohammad Nuh said the ministry will open a coordination center (posko) in every city/regency education office to better tackle school dropout problems. The centers will closely monitor students who are at risk of dropping out and keep accurate data on school dropouts, he said, adding that teachers and principals were expected to contribute to the efforts. In order to ensure students continue their education through to the university level, the ministry will adopt an integrated approach in its provision of assistance for poor students (BSM).
