The Pekalongan police in Central Java have questioned 39 primary school principals in relation to a case of alleged illegal levies in school rehabilitation program. The principals had given around 15% of the school rehabilitation fund received by their schools to a man who claimed to be a messenger of some lawmakers. The man has later returned the collected money, which he said was a fee the schools had agreed to pay him when they submitted the school rehabilitation proposal the Ministry of Education and Culture.
